The best sugar cookies!

World's Best Sugar Cookies

 

I modified the recipe  http://m.allrecipes.com/recipe/9870/easy-sugar-cookies accidentally. 

If you don't eat any dough, this will make about 25 cookies. 

 

MODIFIED (YUMMY) VERSION

2.75 cups flour

2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder 

1 cup butter, softened

1.5 cups white sugar

1 egg

1-2 tsp vanilla

 

 

 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets. (Smash with sugar glass if desired *see below*) 
  3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.

 

I added twice as much baking powder and soda and vanilla on accident (amounts listed above have been doubled) These cookies ended up tasting and looking like they came from the store! Before baking, I smashed each cookie until it was flat with a glass cup with sugar on its bottom. (Dip glass in sugar then press cookie and repeat).
